For Maverick Cares and its community partners, it is always a season of giving, sharing and gratitude.
Since 2019, we have worked together year-round to supply thousands of meals, Back-to-School supplies, and access to local experiences for students and families. Maverick Cares is an employee-led project of the team at Maverick Gaming – named for CEO Eric Persson’s son, Maverick.
During the holiday season, Maverick Cares and its community partners distribute vouchers for meals to thousands of families as well as additional offerings from other local businesses and organizations who step up to support their neighbors. The focus on families is steadfast in the late spring when kids break from school for the summer months and again in the fall when they head back to class. In the fall, community partners collaborate with Maverick Cares on supplies and vouchers for experiences geared at learning outside of the classroom.
Maverick Cares is made possible by partnerships with local community leaders and organizations and is focused on supporting people and families, a community effort made even more critical during the novel coronavirus pandemic.

On June 28th, 2022, Maverick Cares is hosting its annual “School’s Out” event at multiple locations throughout the state. When cafeterias close, things can get tough for students with food insecurity. Maverick Cares is partnering with local schools and youth focused non-profits to support kids who need it the most. Stay tuned for how you can participate or register for a specific location!
