Maverick Cares Welcomes Students & Families for Back-To-School Event
Event hosted by 11 Maverick Gaming locations and the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce is made possible by partnerships with local school districts and non-profits to support kids in need
Back-To-School Pack giveaway will include school supplies, snacks, and tickets to local activities. Maverick Cares plans to give away 4,000 school backpacks filled with donations.
School Supplies: Backpacks, lunch boxes, pencils, pens, composition and spiral notebooks, erasers, crayons, colored pencils, highlighters, markers, and water bottles. Food: Chunk light tuna, variety of chips, sweet and salty snack packs, chewy bars, chicken noodle soup, tomato soup, Snyder’s Pretzels, Mott’s Fruit Snacks, Fruit by the Foot, and Yakult nonfat probiotic drinks

WASHINGTON – In celebration of the coming school year and to support students in need, Maverick Cares is hosting its annual “Back-To-School” event to provide packs to kids with both supplies for school, snacks and tickets for fun local activities. Since its founding in 2019, employee-led Maverick Cares has hosted quarterly charitable events at Maverick Gaming properties statewide and engaged in local community partnerships in support of local families.
Families can sign up in advance to reserve packs to pick up at a Maverick location online.
“When it’s time to get ready for school, it’s important to focus first on the basics and help kids have the supplies they need to succeed in the classroom,” said Maverick Gaming CEO and co-founder, Eric Persson. “I’m proud of the community of partnership that Maverick Cares helps support in all of the communities where we operate and I’m thankful for the donations we receive to share with kids as they get ready to return to school.”
Maverick Cares is an employee-led project of the team at Maverick Gaming to build a community of partnership everywhere Maverick Gaming operates. In 2021, Maverick Cares distributed holiday meal kits in December, Thanksgiving meal kits to families in need in November, 8,000 backpacks filled with school supplies in August and meal kits and educational field trip vouchers for local K-12 students in March. Most recently, Maverick Cares distributed summer pack giveaways on June 28 for its annual “School’s Out” event. Maverick Care’s upcoming Back-To-School event is made possible by partnerships with FabiCash, Genesis Gaming, Sonoma, Strategy9, TabPlus, Galaxy Gaming, Harts Services, Yakult USA, Strawberry Lane, Cougar Mountain Zoo, Point Defiance Zoo, Lynnwood Bowl & Skate, Pump It Up, Sykart Racing, The Jungle Gym, Waterland Arcade, Museum of Flight, Blue Mountain Theatre, Yakima Family Fun Center, Go Bowl Pasco, Aria Beauty, Small Threads, and The Young Guy Podcast.
Ticket giveaways for local experiences will depend on the pick-up location and include: zoo tickets, arcade vouchers, museum tickets, movie passes, racing tickets, and jumping passes.
Maverick Cares also thanks the local elected leaders who are volunteering their time to help hand out donations: State Representative Springer, Councilmembers Toby Nixon, Carmen Rivera, Kate Kruller, Thomas McLeod, Jake Simpson, and Patricia Byers.
