Maverick Cares Hosts Season of Giving Holiday Giveaway
Charitable event hosted by 13 Maverick Gaming locations to distribute 3,000 meal kits for its annual Season of Giving charitable event. Food items include: ham or turkey, green beans, mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie.

WASHINGTON – As families gather for the holiday season and look forward to the beginning of a new year, Maverick Cares is proud to host its annual giveaway to help support families in need. Since its founding in 2019, employee-led Maverick Cares has hosted regular charitable events at Maverick Gaming properties statewide and engaged in local community partnerships
in support of local families.
Families are encouraged to sign up in advance to reserve packs online to pick up at a participating Maverick location (listed below). Kits will be distributed while supplies last. Food items will include: ham, turkey, green beans, mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie. Some locations also will distribute donations from partnering businesses such as toys donated at participating Cadence Academy locations, pop its from TNT Entertainment and dental hygiene kits donated by Smile Dental.
Maverick Cares is thankful for the support and partnership of Smiles Dental Clinic, Cadence Academy, Yakault, TNT Entertainment, Museum of Flight, Waterland Arcade, Strawberry Lanes, Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium, The Jungle Gym, Cougar Mountain Zoo, and Pump It Up.
“As we gather to support families in need this holiday season, I am grateful for the community coming together to make it a little easier for our neighbors to enjoy a great meal together as we close out 2023,” said Maverick Gaming CEO and co-founder Eric Persson. “Since our team founded Maverick Cares four years ago, we have been truly humbled by the collaboration and
support from our local communities in making these events a reality. I wish all of our partners, team members at Maverick Gaming, our local leaders volunteering their time and our broader community a Happy Holiday and a Happy New Year.”
Maverick Cares is an employee-led project of the team at Maverick Gaming founded in Fall 2019 to build a community of partnership everywhere Maverick Gaming operates. Earlier this year, Maverick Cares celebrated its first charitable auction to raise support for its efforts and thanks the community leaders who helped make the event an overwhelming success. In 2022,
Maverick Cares distributed holiday meal kits to families in November and December, “back-to-school” packs to kids in August and summer pack giveaways.
Maverick Cares also thanks the local elected leaders who are volunteering their time to help support the event: Senator John Lovick, Representative David Hackney, Representative Steve Bergquist, SeaTac Councilmembers Peter Kwon and Mohamed Egal, Tukwila Councilmember Thomas McLeod and council-elect Jovita McConnel, Yakima City Councilmember Patricia Byers
and Councilmember Holly Cousens.
The event is from 3pm to 7pm on Tuesday December 19 and is taking place at the following
