Maverick Cares partners with local community organizations to support families

NEVADA – Maverick Gaming has partnered with theJAS Foundation in West Wendover, Nevada, to ensure that families in need are able to enjoy a warm meal this holiday season. Over the weekend, West Wendover Mayor Daniel Corona visited the Nugget to collect a contribution of 48 Spiral Tree smoked spiral sliced honey hams, which were then delivered to the local food bank and senior center for distribution.

The JAS Foundation is a small 501(C) 3 charity serving the needs to the less fortunate in West Wendover, NV, Wendover, UT, and surrounding areas since 2009. To help maximize its impact on the community, the JAS Foundation has incorporated Joseph’s Pantry (food bank), Community Resource Center, and the West Wendover Senior Center into the services it offers, allowing the foundation to serve a wider variety of people at a single source of contact.

Yesterday, JAS Director Frank Sharp said, “We want to take a quick second today to say THANK YOU to everyone who has donated to the JAS Foundation this year!!! We’ve seen record use of our services (primarily the food bank) this year and, because of you, we were able to help those in need and to keep our community fed!! We also want to especially thank Nevada Gold Mines, Resorts at Wendover, and Wendover Nugget Hotel & Casino who donated hams & turkeys this week to help ensure that those in need are able to have a nice holiday dinner!!”
