WASHINGTON – With 2022 coming to a close and families gathering for the holidays, Maverick Gaming’s employee-led philanthropic effort, Maverick Cares, is celebrating its annual Season of Giving event with local partners and distributing 4,000 meal kits for families in need at participating locations across the state. Since its founding in 2019, employee-led Maverick Cares has hosted quarterly charitable events at Maverick Gaming properties statewide and engaged in local community partnerships in support of local families.

Families have signed up in advance to reserve packs to pick up at a Maverick location online. Kits will be distributed while supplies last.

“I am proud of our team’s work with local partners as we all work together to help those families most in need this time of year,” said Maverick Gaming CEO and co-founder, Eric Persson. “Our event is just one of many happening across the region as we all work to help families celebrate the holidays and as we reflect on the first three years of Maverick Cares, I know our team is looking ahead to how we can continue to grow our local partnerships for supporting local families.”

Maverick Cares is an employee-led project of the team at Maverick Gaming to build a community of partnership everywhere Maverick Gaming operates. Most recently, Maverick Cares distributed holiday meal kits to families in November, “back-to-school” packs to kids in August and summer pack giveaways on June 28 for its annual “School’s Out” event.  Maverick Care’s upcoming Season of Giving event is made possible through local partnerships with Strategy 9, Galaxy Gaming, Fabi Cash, ABS Business Data, Alpine Machine, Western Bay Software, Royal Gamut Properties, Small Threads, Milkvue Donuts, and Yakult USA.

Maverick Cares also thanks the local elected leaders who are volunteering their time to help hand out donations: Senator Perry Dozier, Representative Tina Orwall, Tukwila Mayor Allan Ekberg, Tukwila Councilmembers Kate Kruller and Thomas McLeod, and Yakima Councilmembers Patricia Buyers and Holly Cousens.
